Earthly Beings in Dreams is a performance of sounding, poetry, movement, and set design, to be site-specifically explored and story-told. Drawing on the artist's inner conversations that she continues after her spending times with her old and new friends and workshop-giving across oceans and lands, she writes poems. She breathes with the sunset, the moon, water and trees. "As I see the sunset, kind sunset, I realize that I am sunset itself, the sunset that is shared by all of us." We are always interconnected with other beings. Continuing conversations and listening into herself allow her to realize or change--we learn, evolve, understand, and heal in relations.
Aine Nakamura
Aine Nakamura is a performer of voice and body, poet, and artist, based in the Bay Area/East Bay. She focuses on the potentialities of an injured voice and the listening and sensing bodies. In addition to performances, she engages in listening in relation to intergenerational wounds, attuning to the condition of vulnerability, presence of wounds and repair, and kindness and love. Her recent works include her performance "Breath In This World" premiered at Indexical in SC (2026); a month-long site-specific exhibition/performance project "hands on tape" (2025), presented at The Lab in SF; performance of sung and spoken voice and body "Under an Unnamed Flower" presented at 2022 Venice Biennale; and performance project "Circle hasu We plant seeds in the spring of mountains" presented at 2022 Theatertreffen at Berliner Festspiele. Awardee of the Venice Biennale Site-Specific Performance Grant, Fulbright Fellowship (Berlin), and The Leo Bronstein Homage Award.
